Support AustLII - 2025 End of Financial Year Appeal |
Can you please make a financial contribution that will help AustLII to continue to deliver its essential service?
In 2025, AustLII celebrates its thirtieth anniversary. Our founding mission is to provide comprehensive free and anonymous access to the law for all Australians. In doing so AustLII has become Australia’s most accessed online free-access resource for Australian legal information, last year serving over 450 million page access requests (1.2 million per day) from over 10 million distinct hosts.
AustLII is critical national research infrastructure, which provides the basis for all research that deals directly or indirectly with Australian law. We ensure that the legal system operates effectively and efficiently, support access to justice and help to enable the rule of law for Australia and internationally.
‘Free access to law’ means that the AustLII service is free to use for all those who can access the internet. However, this service is not free to build, maintain and provide. To deliver the comprehensive professional service that AustLII aims to do, and that its many and various users expect, requires income to pay staff, and to constantly maintain and update the computing hardware and facilities that make the service available.
AustLII does not seek user access subscriptions or advertising because they are inconsistent with its free access policies and its charitable status. Instead, AustLII asks all its users, those who publish via its services, and those who otherwise benefit from its service, to make a financial contribution that reflects the value of AustLII to them and to the Australian community.
Please make a financial contribution that will help AustLII to continue to deliver its essential service.
Thank you for your support.
